Content Marketing Manager @Altumind

My day often begins with scrolling various #digital platforms to gather valuable insights, and I recently encountered a compelling statistic: 22% of startups fail simply because they neglect #marketing. For many founders, the belief is “build it, and they will come”—but in today’s competitive landscape, that mindset can be the silent killer of promising ventures. Even the most innovative products need the power of strategic marketing to reach their audience and gain traction. So, why do so many startups overlook marketing? Here are a few reasons: 1. #Founders often invest all their #resources in perfecting their product, assuming quality alone will drive demand. In a crowded market, even the best products require a strategy to be seen and understood. 2. Marketing is often seen as an “extra” expense, causing #startups to postpone it until revenue comes in. This delay can stunt early #growth and miss critical traction. 3. Marketing can feel elusive, especially to technical founders, making it easy to prioritize other urgent tasks. However, neglecting it can leave potential customers unaware and result in missed growth opportunities. 4. Marketing goes beyond selling; it builds a #brand, fosters relationships, and provides insights. #Earlystagemarketing can shape product development and enhance customer loyalty, creating a scalable feedback loop. Marketing doesn’t have to be costly to be impactful. By starting with content, social media, or strategic partnerships, startups can build a voice, connect with early adopters, and set the stage for sustainable growth. The sooner marketing is prioritized, the sooner a startup can turn from a great idea into a recognized brand. For example, Slack initially focused on perfecting its messaging app before implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy. Significant traction was achieved after launching targeted campaigns and refining brand messaging. How does your startup prioritize marketing?
