“Should product managers be technical?” This question tries to oversimplify a complex role with a binary answer. There is too much context around type of company, customer, products that is missed. If a binary answer requires context setting and explanation, ask a better question. What do you think? #productmanagement

As product managers, we face the on-going challenge of balancing opportunities to limited resources. While "Can we do it?" is often the initial question, the real key lies in asking, "Should we do it?" If analysis doesn't indicate positive value and customer impact, you might not want to pursue evaluating feasibility and scope. Time and effort saved. #ProductManagement #Prioritization #ValueVsFeasibility

Product Management is a role that can vary across organizations and business units, as I've learned from my experience. There are several types of Product Managers, including User-focused, Business-focused, and Technology-focused. Each type has its own strengths, but there are common factors that merge across various types of managers. It all depends on the product strategy to pick up the correct person for your product growth. Don't forget the value generation for any type of product management role. #ProductManagement #ProductGoals #AgileDevelopment #ProductStrategy

Dan Olsen asked #chatGPT if #ProductManagement is in decline - it said NO. The issue is, though, whether AI can replace #ProductManagers - and while I think the answer is (still) NO, it can do a lot to replace what they're doing. At Iteraite, we've been using AI to automate many PM-templates that are based off of "best-practices" found in books and articles. If you can quickly generate initial documents, and start Brainstorming sessions in minutes, you've saved yourself hours... We've released a few of these templates in a (very inexpensive) app: https://lnkd.in/emaatThR You can try out the #PRD generator for FREE - and no worries about your data, we save nothing! Anything saved will be on your computer.

I’ve seen a few posts postulating that product management is experiencing a decline. I’m not so sure. Just to be safe, I asked an expert: "Is there any evidence for a recent decline in the relative importance of product management as a job function?” See the response in the comments #productmanagement
