Pakistan's scrap and steel imports decline According to the #Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the country imported around 217,000 tons of scrap metal in June. This is a decrease of 14.4 % compared to the previous month of May and 6.6 % compared to the same period last year. The value of #scrap imports amounted to USD 98.39 million, a decrease of 13.2 % compared to the previous month, but a remarkable increase of 62.4 % compared to the previous year. Taiwan's ferrous scrap imports increased by 13% in September In September 2024, Taiwan witnessed a 13% increase in ferrous scrap imports, reaching 227,706 tons, up from 200,790 tons in August 2024. However, this figure represents a significant decline of 20% compared to September 2023, when imports totaled 284,876 tons. How did Türkiye's imported scrap purchases end December 2024? The Turkish imported scrap market has fallen this year from $390 in the summer to $360 by the end of August. Strong stimulus signals from China at the end of September briefly lifted prices, but then oversupply in the export market to Türkiye caused Turkish mills to reduce their purchase offers to a two-year low of $335 in early December. Pakistan scrap imports increased by 5% in September Pakistan’s scrap imports increased by 20% in September compared to the previous month and by 5% compared to the same period last year. According to data from the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS), Pakistan's scrap imports reached roughly 212,000 tons in September, a 20% increase from the previous month and a 5% rise compared to the same period last year. 🔔#SteelHome: Iran's Finished Steel Imports Increased by 7% in the First Eight Months of the Persian Year According to the statistical data of the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA), in the first eight months of the current Persian year (from March 21 to November 22, 2024), Iran's finished steel imports were slightly higher than 1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7%. Among them, the import volume of hot-rolled coils surged by 27% to reach 358,000 tons; the import volume of cold-rolled coils was 380,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1%; and the import volume of hot-dip galvanized steel was 174,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5%. Türkiye's billet and bloom imports decreased by 25.1% in January-August period According to data compiled by SteelRadar analysts from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Türkiye's billet and bloom imports in August increased by 25.6% year-on-year to 273,058 tons from 217,414 tons. Türkiye's pig iron imports decreased by 1.5% in January-August period According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Türkiye's pig iron imports in August 2024 decreased by 24.8% y-o-y to 33,032 tons from 43,908 tons. This figure was down 72% compared to the previous month of July.

Taiwan's scrap, billet and H-section imports decline in November In November, Taiwan imported about 220,000 tons of scrap steel. This figure represents a 4% decrease compared to October’s import of 228,000 tons. The US remained the largest supplier, supplying 90,000 tons, accounting for more than 40% of total imports.
