If you would have told me when I was cleaning toilets, I could be helping business grow and scale. I would of held up that jonny mop and laughed. I always believed that a great union job would get me through. The truth is half of nothing still nothing. And when they promised you to retire with half you can guarantee they will. I quit a good union job I zeroed out that $20,000 retirement, and began to look for what else was out there. Was a scary time yes. I’m working 16 hour days facing out of the school district. To job hopping for growth opportunities. They all say I’m gonna miss you. You had great work. It was hot, capturing my full potential. Post my dd214 after few years of drinking, I learned with over 10 years of Janitorial work. If you are really good at they give you more Janitorial work. I wanted more then that. I’m turning 40 and realize life is to short. Here’s the deal, you are not where you work, you are not what you do, you are the fullness of your thoughts and your actions. Let me tell you who you are is more than what you could imagine. I don’t know if this test means I’m crazy or not but here are my results. You should by the book or give the test a whirl. Think big, it is not uncommon for common men (people) to do great things. Your mind is the lens of which you processed the information around you and as you upgrade your processing. Not only is it faster it is now truer. So when things that happen that wouldn’t offend you before happen you may pray for the person. Or sympathy. Here is another set of themes included in my test. Me, certainly:

Misinformed, 1/3 of workers retire & claim their SS benefit early at age 62 & they are 40% more likely to have a heart attack than those who keep working after age 65. Working is not only good for your health it is the path to wealth. There are 14M semi-rich millionaires in the US who saved their way there. They didn’t inherit a fortune or start a tech company. On avg, it took them 28 years of systematically saving & investing to accumulate a 4M to $5M net worth. The typical millionaire is age 65 & thrifty; lives in a house worth 500k, drives a 5-yr-old car that cost 50k new, & shops mostly at Costco & Walmart. Being rich is not about self-gratification; It’s about a sense of responsibility.   One rich guy told me: “I’ve always been scared of debt & I never bought anything with a credit card unless I could pay it off the end of the month.” Another said: “I think it comes down to values. You have to avoid buying a lot of stuff: when I was a young man out of college, my mom would say, ‘Todd, you’re making all this money, why don’t you go buy yourself a flashy car.’ But I just liked to play volleyball on the beach & ride my mountain bike & run. I saved my money.” Misguided: Social media urges Gen Z to buy what they don’t need & can’t afford out of envy of “friends” they don’t know.

If you are forced to retire early in Tennessee, is that a constructive discharge under the law preventing you from filing an employment discrimination lawsuit. The sixth circuit answered this question that the following factors apply in that analysis. The answer is most likely it would not be a sincere and true retirement or resignation and you can still pursue a discrimination claim. Take a look at Laster v. City of Kalamazoo, 746 F. 3d 714 (6th Cir. 2014) “In Logan, we formally adopted the Fifth Circuit's approach to determining whether the first prong of the constructive discharge inquiry has been met, counseling that: Whether a reasonable person would have [felt] compelled to resign depends on the facts of each case, but we consider the following factors relevant, singly or in combination: (1) demotion; (2) reduction in salary; (3) reduction in job responsibilities; (4) reassignment to menial or degrading work; (5) reassignment to work under a younger supervisor; (6) badgering, harassment, or humiliation by the employer calculated to encourage the employee's resignation; or (7) offers of early retirement or continued employment on terms less favorable than the employee's former status.”
