BABY STEPS. That's what you need to take when migrating to HubSpot. See, getting your team onboard might not be an instant process. A few members might push back, afraid of trying something new. But we almost guarantee, ALL of your team members will soon come to love HubSpot because of how much easier it will make their work lives. Though don't try and get them to learn and implement everything at once. Get them learning one thing, mastering it (or at least becoming "good enough" at it), and THEN moving onto the next. As Austin Powers might say... Baby steps, baby.

When I started at Profound North just 1.5 weeks ago, my knowledge of HubSpot was… let’s say “nonexistent.” Fast forward to now, and I’ve already earned five HubSpot Academy certifications! 🎉 I don’t even have enough screens to showcase them all. HubSpot has proven to be both a powerful tool and a fascinating one to learn. From Sales, Marketing, and Service Hubs to the crucial tasks of CRM data migrations (because organized data makes all the difference, right?), I’m starting to see just how much potential it holds for helping businesses grow smarter. Huge thanks to Profound North for creating an environment where learning and growth aren’t just buzzwords – they’re how we work. As someone whose top talent is learning (shoutout to my First Mind test results for confirming, but more on that later), I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get started. Can’t wait to keep building on this foundation!🤓

Yesterday, I asked Dharmesh Shah, Co-Founder of HubSpot a question during the HubSpot Admins User Group's 100th meetup! He explained his decision to remain an individual contributor with no direct reports, sharing it allowed him to double down on his strengths. "Keep your hands in the things you enjoy", he advised. Master your craft! I also loved this tidbit into HubSpot's sustained success as a company (paraphrasing Dharmesh and Kyle Jepson here): "We like teaching things. We like demystifying things…. It’s a philosophy-first company. We are an opinionated platform. We believe there’s a right way to do business and to use technology and we’re trying to help people do that." I never expected my journey with HubSpot to end this way. On the morning of July 16, I received the shocking and painful news that a restructure has eliminated my team at HubSpot, effective immediately. After nearly six years of dedication and hard work, it’s difficult to express the mix of emotions I felt in that moment. HubSpot was my first job out of school, so much so that over the years, I've tied almost my entire professional identity to it. I started out joining the wonderful support team and later transitioned to helping customers onboard and master the HubSpot software in my onboarding role. Whether through one-on-one sessions or group trainings, I always took great pride in helping users make the most of our tools. The connections I made and the positive impact on our customers’ journeys have been truly rewarding. Few people can say they love their job, but I was proud to say that I was one of them. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people at HubSpot. The talent, passion, and camaraderie of my colleagues have been a constant source of inspiration and support. The friendships and professional relationships I’ve built here are something I will cherish for life. This sudden change has left me feeling a bit lost and helpless, but I know this is not a reflection of my ability. Since joining the training team in February this year, I spearheaded the successful launch of the Onboarding Foundations program in APAC. In the short month of taking over the Marketing Hub Fundamentals program, I successfully conducted a 3-day workshop for 14 attendees—the highest number of attendees any APAC trainer had in the last nine quarters—and, with a perfect CSAT score of 100%. So, I know I’ll eventually be fine. For the next 2 to 3 months, I will be taking a break and focusing on settling the renovations of my new home. However, if you have any opportunities that allow me to bring my expertise in product training or onboarding, please let me know! I also want to extend my best wishes to all my colleagues who were affected by this change. We’re all talented individuals who just faced the unfortunate circumstance of redundancy. My First 30 Days At HubSpot One month down at HubSpot, and it's been a whirlwind of learning and growth! Here are my top 3 takeaways so far: 1️⃣ Soak it all in, then swim! When joining a new company, it's easy to feel the urge to jump right into action and make an immediate big impact. But just like tackling Ikea furniture without properly reading the instructions (guilty!), rushing into action can lead to rework and frustration. This month, I've focused on actively absorbing information. I listened more than I spoke and asked questions – even the seemingly "silly" ones (My top silly question of the month: Asking someone to explain something to me like I am 6). This approach helped me build a strong foundation for future contributions and I will continue asking questions to ensure I understand things correctly and I am on the right track. 2️⃣ Decode the Company Lingo Having been at Google for 6+ years, I was fluent in the “Google-way” of almost everything. But here at HubSpot, some things are different!  This month, I made a conscious effort to observe how things work. I learned the company lingo and tried to quickly adapt to it so people actually understood me (for example “I’ll ping you” became “I’ll slack you” and I promise I will try to say JAPAC instead of APAC!). While adapting to a new company I am still making sure to try to add my own spin to things and combine the best of both worlds. 3️⃣ The Newbie Network Advantage!  Newbies often underestimate the power they hold! We come equipped with a unique superpower: the "newbie card." This month, I've actively leveraged this card to connect with as many people at HubSpot as possible. Think of it as a golden ticket to open doors, spark valuable conversations and a permission to ask a lot of questions - even the seemingly silly ones. The start of my journey at HubSpot has been incredible so far and I would like to thank everyone who has made it so special! Super excited to see what the future holds at HubSpot! 🧡 #HubSpotLife P.S. 💡 This week someone asked me why I consider myself one of the best implementation specialist in the Hubspot Ecosystem. I thought about this over the weekend and came to the conclusion that I have no other choice but to be one of the best professionals in the market. If I want to be at the best company, solve the toughest problems, and make the biggest impact, it's only natural that I need to be one of the best. Excellence does not tolerate mediocrity.
