https://lnkd.in/g2frdYXr Vortex Bladeless is revolutionizing wind energy with a bladeless turbine Vortex Bladless’s redefining design operates by harvesting vortex-induced vibration. The structure features an obelisk design with a cylindrical mast that oscillates in wind currents. The air that flows around the turbine produces vortices that induce vibrations, which generate energy for converting into electricity via electromagnetic induction.

🌊 Wave Energy Wave energy is a type of renewable energy that harnesses the movement of ocean surface waves to generate electricity. This technology works by using devices like buoys or oscillating water columns, which capture the kinetic energy produced by waves. Since the ocean covers over 70% of the Earth's surface, wave energy presents a huge opportunity to tap into a sustainable, never-ending power source. 🌍🔋 🌐 Countries Leading in Wave Energy Installations Several nations are at the forefront of wave energy technology: 🇵🇹 Portugal – One of the pioneers in wave energy, known for projects like the Aguçadoura Wave Farm. 🇦🇺 Australia – A significant player with initiatives like the Perth Wave Energy Project. 🇬🇧 United Kingdom – Home to testing sites like the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) in Scotland. 🇳🇴 Norway – Pushing forward with innovations in wave energy technology. 🇨🇱 Chile – Taking advantage of its long Pacific coastline for wave energy projects. These countries are strategically located with coastlines that experience powerful, consistent waves, making them ideal for harnessing wave energy. ⚡ Difference Between Wave and Tidal Energy Wave Energy captures the energy from surface waves, which are created by the wind as it blows across the ocean. It’s available almost continuously, as wind-generated waves can occur anytime. Tidal Energy, on the other hand, depends on the rise and fall of sea levels due to the gravitational forces exerted by the moon and sun. The movement of water during high and low tides is more predictable but only happens at certain intervals in the day. 💡 Key Differences: 1. Source: Wave energy comes from wind-driven waves. Tidal energy comes from the natural rise and fall of ocean levels due to tides. 2. Consistency: Wave energy is variable and dependent on wind patterns but more constant throughout the day. Tidal energy is predictable but only available during specific times of the day (high and low tides). 🚀 Both technologies are essential for diversifying our renewable energy mix, but wave energy is often seen as more flexible, while tidal energy is highly reliable due to its predictability. 🌱 A Greener Future As countries continue to invest in these technologies, wave and tidal energy could play a vital role in reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, helping to create a sustainable energy future. 🌍 https://lnkd.in/gDrM9sVS #WaveEnergy #RenewableEnergy #GreenTech #TidalEnergy #Sustainability #OceanEnergy

Whenever someone talks about wind energy harvesting in transportation, as in this paper https://lnkd.in/ebWHcPUy, they also need to consider the impact on drag. Blocking airflow near a moving vehicle will raise its drag and energy consumption. Somewhat similar ideas such as using railroad right of way to build wind turbines can potentially work, as can building wind barriers that reduce dangerous and drag inducing crosswinds.

Wave power holds immense promise as a renewable energy source and offers significant potential to address global energy challenges. Companies like CorPower Ocean are at the forefront of this revolution with their innovative C4 wave energy converter. Here's an expanded view with some references: Global Wave Energy Potential The global wave energy potential is estimated to be around 29,500 Terawatt-hours (TWh) per year. This is equivalent to producing almost 10 times Europe's annual electricity consumption and 3 times more energy yield per square kilometer than floating offshore wind. Harnessing this potential could make a substantial impact on the world's renewable energy mix. CorPower Ocean’s C4 Technology CorPower Ocean's C4 technology is leading the charge in wave energy. Some highlights include: - 600kW peak power output, with a target to achieve 850kW following upgrades. - 90% power availability compared to 20-35% for wind and solar. - Proven storm survival capabilities in waves up to 18.5 meters. WaveSpring Technology CorPower's WaveSpring technology amplifies wave motion, converting 1-meter waves into 3-meter movements and automatically detuning during storms to prevent damage. Economic Impact The adoption of wave energy could create significant economic benefits, including: - Generating over 680,000 jobs globally. - Adding $340 billion to the global economy. - Powering 40 million homes with a 40GW capacity by 2050. Environmental and Economic Benefits of Wave Power Wave power's steady and predictable nature makes it a reliable renewable energy source. Additionally, it reduces dependence on fossil fuels and contributes to mitigating climate change. In summary, wave power, exemplified by advancements like CorPower Ocean's C4 technology, offers a promising solution to meet rising global energy demands sustainably. 🌊🔋 Wave energy's potential is expansive, capable of producing enough electricity to meet global demand and playing a key role in achieving a net-zero world by 2050.

Laws of physics will win. This article from RMI argues that modern societies need less heat, more moving energy (electrons), and to quit burning things (including the planet as a side effect) when we don’t need to, and to use renewable energy sources that tend towards 70% plus efficiency vs 30% and lower fossil sources. https://lnkd.in/gmzyz_jY

The opportunities to harness marine energy are abundant. The total available marine energy resource in the United States is equivalent to approximately 57% of all U.S. power generation in 2019. Even if only a small portion of this technical resource potential is captured, marine energy technologies would make significant contributions to the nation’s energy needs. Researchers are testing and deploying new technologies with the goal of harnessing energy from these plentiful water resources. Furyan Marine Technology are also engaged in designing a revolutionary WEC converting mechanical energy into electricity. https://lnkd.in/dn9YZFnF #waveenergyconverter #marineenergy #renewableenergy
