#ICYMI: ThredUp's Chief Strategy Officer Alon Rotem joined fellow ACT members in DC, where we strengthened existing partnerships and forged new connections with key policymakers to help fuel a more sustainable future. Collaboration is vital for advancing circularity in the textile industry, and we at ThredUp are grateful for the partnership, leadership and support of our members and partners at ACT (American Circular Textiles). Special thanks to Rachel Van Metre Kibbe and Randall Gerard for guiding the team through an impactful week. Let's keep this momentum going.
Just wrapped an incredible week in DC, where I led a group of ACT (American Circular Textiles) members for a high-impact lobby day, followed by an executive dinner. We met with key policymakers to push forward critical conversations on circularity, trade policy, and the future of domestic manufacturing and textile waste solutions. Heading into the trip, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The landscape is shifting, and we often hear that progress on these issues is slow. But after back-to-back meetings on the Hill, I left feeling inspired—real work is happening, and momentum is building in our space. We deepened long-standing relationships, started new ones, and reinforced why ACT is at the center of these policy conversations. There’s never been a more important time for the private sector and policymakers to align on solutions that make circularity scalable. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead. If you’re a brand, investor, or policymaker who wants to be part of this movement, let’s connect. Grateful for Randall Gerard’s and Cogent Strategies partnership; Jamie Atkins, MBA for your support; Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati ongoing event sponsorships, thank you Vikki Nguyen and David Sharon (aka Ben); and the ACT members who joined me.
