AWS Community Blog: Amazon EKS Upgrade Guidance (v1.25 to 1.26) A great example of community content (this one happens to be Co-authored by Containers Specialists at Amazon Web Services (AWS) - authors are listed in blog). "This blog post distils best practices, techniques, and advanced considerations for performing EKS version upgrades. While this post primarily focuses on EKS v.125 to 1.26 upgrade, tips and strategies shared here can be applied to other version upgrades." #aws #awscloud #amazonwebservices #kubernetes #amazoneks #containers #K8s https://lnkd.in/eWZkdzv9

👋 Today I'd like to highlight AWS update on Amazon EKS support and its cost implications for your Kubernetes clusters. Failing to update Kubernetes versions on time means your clusters will enter extended support after standard support ends.🤔 There are almost no differences between standard and extended support, but price. 📖 Read my new article to learn more: https://lnkd.in/dJM4HX8H #aws #amazoneks #finops #extendedsupport

After having just successfully created a #Kubernetes cluster in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), my local kubectl was unable to communicate with the cluster. Local troubleshooting and hints from ye olde Internet finally pointed out the issue: An older version of the AWS CLI! 😅 . Details in my newest #blog post. https://lnkd.in/ddkjAREH

Watch out for potential cost increases in AWS EKS starting April 1st! I recently discovered a significant jump of over $1K in charges on an account I handle cost optimization for during May reviews. Amazon EKS clusters running on a Kubernetes version in the extended support window will now incur a charge of $0.60 per cluster per hour, effective from the April 2024 billing cycle. Stay informed to manage your costs effectively. #aws #eks #costoptimization StreamingFinTech LLC Check out more details here: https://lnkd.in/e4MRvE_r
