This increase is mainly caused by the use of earbuds and exposure to loud noise at nightclubs, festivals and concerts. Scientific research on tinnitus is still in its early stages. Currently, cognitive behavioral therapy is the best available option for relief and improving quality of life. But there is no cure. This makes dealing with tinnitus very discouraging for patients and caregivers. Day 6 of Donate Life Month's Spirit Week is an uplifting way to promote organ, eye, and tissue donation. That's because today is Create "Donate Life" Rocks day. Painted rocks have become a trend in communities all over the United States. The mission is simple: you paint a rock and place it somewhere for someone to find. Once found, someone picks up the painted rock and eventually places it in a new location. Painted rocks get traded out for other rocks with other messages. Some rocks say Kindness Matters. Some just have a simple design meant to brighten someone's day. A Donate Life rock, however, helps promote the ongoing need for organ, eye, and tissue donors to help give people the gift of life or sight. It symbolizes a message of hope for someone waiting for a life-saving or life-changing surgery. Today, I had the opportunity to donate blood at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore for a friend's mother, who is about to undergo heart surgery. This experience reminded me of a few important lessons: 1. Small actions can have a big impact. Something as simple as donating blood can help save a life. 2. Health is a shared responsibility.
