Founder + CEO + Janitor at Sword // Trying to solve some big Human problems.

It was a pleasure to co-author this op-ed with Dan Mendelson, bringing together the perspectives of Morgan Health and Sword Health on how AI could become the most transformative force in healthcare to date. Healthcare is notorious for its imbalance between demand and supply, creating significant barriers to accessing not only high-quality care but also timely care. For example, consider how long it can take to schedule a pelvic health appointment in the U.S. AI has the potential to close this gap by scaling clinical and care teams, enabling clinicians to focus on the human touch while allowing patients to receive high-quality care at home, maximizing comfort, convenience, and flexibility. By breaking down access barriers, AI paves the way for a future where healthcare delivers higher quality and an improved patient experience, all while driving down costs (an equantion that is impossible to solve with the current status quo). This, in essence, is the true promise of value-based care. We believe that AI should—and could—be the enabler of this transformation. This is what we’re currently seeing at Sword and Morgan Health, as we contribute in a collective effort to shape the future of healthcare. Check the article for more details on our perspective

Such an exciting perspective on AI’s role in healthcare! I agree that AI can bridge the gap between demand and supply, making timely and high-quality care more accessible. What are some of the biggest challenges you foresee in integrating AI into value-based care on a larger scale?
