Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure and honor to join a panel discussion on the transformative impact of #AI on #UX Research alongside Flora Lu, Kirby May Johnson and Rik Wester.
Our conversation covered how the wide-scale introduction of Generative AI tools—and rapid developments towards predictive, interactive, and autonomous AI—are reshaping the UX Research process. I argued that the next wave of AI promises to be even more transformative. So far, we’ve mainly seen productivity improvements for individual UX researchers, but by integrating diverse data sources like support tickets, sales calls, and more, we can generate a continuous stream of long-living data that feeds into our Product Discovery repositories.
This, in my view, is the key to truly democratizing UX—not by teaching everyone the intricacies of UX processes, but by embedding UX practices within AI agents and democratizing the outcomes. This is exactly what we're aiming for at NEXT, to enable a new wave of transformation driven by AI.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this insightful discussion. Exciting times are ahead for UX Research & Product Discovery!
