“Asia’s arms makers and naval shipbuilders are leading a global surge in defence stocks this year as investors bet that the region’s companies are primed to lead a rearmament boom . . . Shares in Hanwha Aerospace, South Korea’s largest defence group, have tripled this year to a market value of nearly Won18tn (close to $13bn), leaving them in dollar terms just behind Nvidia among the MSCI All-Country World’s biggest gainers.” https://on.ft.com/4fUDkM4 Hugues Lavandier Varun Marya Alexander Benard

Accuracy and reliability are essential in Defense and Aerospace testing. That’s why the collaboration between Contact Corporation and Mastsystem Int’l Oy stands out. Featured in the latest Military Systems & Technology Magazine, their wire antenna mast trailer system—built for SARA Inc.—integrates Mastsystem’s EXL mast to quickly test radar and communication systems. The trailer-mounted mast can deploy in hours, adapt to various antenna sizes, and remain stable in tough conditions. Its range, up to 200 meters wide and 24 meters high, ensures that testing platforms like military aircraft and naval vessels perform as expected in real-world environments. This innovation represents a key advance in ensuring our armed forces remain informed, agile, and mission-ready. The cooperation agreement to create the 50/50 joint venture EURA (European Military Rotorcraft Engine Alliance) marks the next step in the development of a new 100% European engine for the next generation of European military helicopters. The finalization of this agreement follows the MoU signed at the International Paris Air Show in June 2023. It builds on over 50 years’ cooperation between MTU Aero Engines and Safran Helicopter engines and complements our existing joint initiative to power the New Generation Fighter within the FCAS program. Franco-German collaboration is at the heart of Europe’s defense programs and his new initiative marks another milestone in our continent’s defense history. It will con-tribute to ensuring the Europe’s sovereignty as well as strengthen its high-tech sup-ply chain for years to come. #DefenceMatters #EuropeanDefence #EuropeanSovereignty #Sovereignty #EURA #ENGRT Safran - Propulsion Michael Schreyögg

The biennial African Aerospace and Defence Expo (AAD) held in September last year has evolved from being primarily an aerospace expo to a defense show. In previous years the U.S. has been a huge presence, but at the most recent show, China and Brazil shone through. Both are partners with South Africa in the BRICS alliance (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) and they exhibited their military strategic airlifters. The South African Air Force needs to replace its 60-year-old C-130BZ Hercules fleet so the Brazilians brought an Embraer C-390 Millenium, and the Chinese showcased a Xi’an Y-20 Kunpeng. People - LET’S KEEP A BALANCED PERSPECTIVE WITH MILITARY & DEFENSE TECHNOLOGIES… Military and Defense Technologies are CONSUMABLES… These items are essentially HARDWARE COSTS for SOFT STRATEGIC (Political, Economic, Social, Military etc.) GAINS. The APPLICATION of these items, whether kinetic or cyber, DETERMINES their INITIAL VALUE which IMMEDIATELY DECLINES; either due to economic costs, availability or counter-technological developments, policies or divergent agendas. These items are principally HARDWARE & SYSTEMS BASED. They have NO SOUL and are NOTHING MORE THAN THE “TOOLS OF POLITICAL AGENDAS”. Historically, these items applied for OFFENSIVE & DEFENSIVE USE DETERMINED BY POLITICAL POLICIES, PROCESSES & PROCEDURES. It is IMPORTANT to ALWAYS RETAIN AN OBJECTIVE & BALANCED PERSPECTIVE with these items and AND A CONSTANT FORWARD EVALUATION OF THE CONSEQUENCES of their use. In the End …Military/Defense/Security, Dual-Purpose, and Commercial Technologies are NOTHING MORE THAN TECHNOLOGY in the hands of “driven humans”! #unitednations #whitehouse #uscongress #ussenate #ushouseofrepresentatives #ussupremecourt #statedepartment #departmentofdefense #departmentofcommerce ##departmentofjustice #kamalaharris #timwalz #NATO #AUKUS #QUAD #australia #newzealand #canada #unitedkingdom #unitedstates #japan #korea #india #taiwan #netherlands #denmark #norway #sweden #france #italy #spain #germany #austria #poland #ukraine #turkey #saudiarabia #defense #defenseindustries #defence #defenceindustries #AECA #ITAR #EAR #exportcontrol #foreigndisclosure

Chinese state-run media announced that a new fighter jet, likely the J-35, has been tested on one of the country's aircraft carriers, the CNS Liaoning. This aircraft is reportedly "superior" to the American F-35C Lightning II, although specifics were not provided. The test was highlighted by China Central Television on September 13, 2024, noting that the new aircraft successfully landed on the Liaoning, which is China’s first operational aircraft carrier, originally Soviet-built. While military observers and state-run outlets like China Daily speculate that the J-35 is China's next-generation carrier-based fighter jet, official details remain sparse. Earlier in February, a full-scale J-35 mock-up was photographed on the Liaoning, fueling further speculation about its capabilities and deployment potential. This development underscores China's ongoing efforts to enhance its naval and aerial combat capabilities, particularly in comparison to U.S. military assets. The timing of these tests aligns with broader tensions and competitive dynamics between the two nations' military technologies, signaling China's intent to challenge U.S. dominance in this area.

🚀 RTX and Colorado-based propulsion firm Ursa Major have announced the successful flight tests of a new solid rocket motor with long-range capabilities. The tests, conducted at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in California, saw an RTX missile powered by the Ursa-made rocket motor, which measures less than 10 inches in diameter. According to Ursa Major CEO Daniel Jablonsky, the tests demonstrated the effectiveness of the company’s agile manufacturing techniques and confirmed that the solid rocket motor is ready to support a range of military programs. “The innovative manufacturing techniques we employ are yielding agile solid rocket motor solutions with the design flexibility needed to expand the capabilities of the US military,” he said. #military #defense #defenseindustry #technology #innovation #missiles
