No Cloud Left Behind (Why I Joined Whatfix)

Three years ago I met the founders of Whatfix and made a seed investment in what promises to be my most successful venture ever.  A few months later we launched at Dreamforce ‘15 and immediately found product/market fit.

“We need Whatfix not just to accelerate adoption of Salesforce in our organization, but to do so for all our applications” said several enterprise prospects.

They were right.  Today 250 customers later we have use cases for accelerating adoption on all the leading cloud applications like Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, ServiceNow and for several internally built applications as well.

So what does Whatfix do?  Whatfix Accelerates Cloud Adoption by providing a software platform that allows enterprises to create Interactive Walkthroughs that sit as an overlay inside any web application.  Each walkthrough is contextual  and will appear based on where you are in the app (location) and who you are (role).  Our conviction is that optimal performance and adoption of any web application is attained when there is easy access to contextual Information inside the application at the time a task is being performed.  With our walkthroughs, end users learn by doing!

Why do companies need Whatfix?  To accelerate product adoption, reduce customer support and for smarter training. Enterprises with 100s or 1,000s of employees can’t effectively train and on board employees on each of their cloud apps at scale. Moreover, cloud software companies sell platforms where enterprises can create custom configurations for their instances and each cloud app needs to integrate with other cloud apps often from multiple vendors.  The end result is significant software and services spend by the enterprise and disappointing employee adoption.  As far as employee adoption is concerned - Cloud apps are being left behind!

With Whatfix, enterprises can create Interactive Walkthroughs inside each application that guide employees contextually through key workflows like the example below. The result, accelerated cloud adoption, reduced customer support and smarter training.

Not only Whatfix can impact internal systems of enterprises targeting user adoption, it can also positively impact their top line. For example: An airlines company can use Whatfix for increasing web-check in % for the travelers (many travelers wouldn't do web-check in because they aren't comfortable with the UI of the website). Just to put things in perspective, globally still 48% of air travelers do face to face check ins. I just developed a workflow on whatfix's user community, so one can go and check it out. It convinces me that Whatfix has such wide applicability being so horizontal in nature. Good luck !!
