How to Crowdsourcing innovation successfully?

As one of the leaders in Shenkar Disability Makeathone A.K.A "Merkaha" I've studied other venture how they succeed to escape the unfortunate but solid poor implementation ratio.

A new study in HBR investigates how the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) improves their innovation ratio. In a nutshell, this is what they found and we embraced:

1. A team is better than one entrepreneur - make sure it's not a one man show.

2. Plan the business - make sure they run in and out the Business Canvas Model or Lean Service Design BEFORE they start diving into

3. Make sure the team meets their audience when designing the solution, otherwise it’s a nice story about a galaxy far far away..

4. Lower your risks - when running makeathons for disability, make sure the accessibility experts are invited and intend in the scene. We are using the PING methodology, making sure the teams are on target at all times.

5.  Pave the route to market – make sure the teams meet & speak with relevant distributor, industry key influences and relevant local subsidiaries of a global brands. thinking G2M in essential in developing new products.

Last but not least – if teams can work in the same time and place – higher the chances that “non zero sum game” will improve results. This is why we will make the entire campus celebrating the event.
