Kotlin Multiplatform Discussions
Touchlab is working on improving our best-practice and tooling for native mobile teams using Kotlin Multiplatform. Approaches and experiences vary considerably, as do outcomes. For anybody who is evaluating KMP, and certainly for anybody who is using KMP or decided it wouldn't work for their team, I'd love to chat.
Actual feedback from real teams is critical to KMP's adoption. We've worked with many teams and had discussions with many others, and so far, every conversation has brought surprises.
If you'd like to chat, feel free to message me. I'm not up to the latest on LinkedIn messaging rules, so you can also find me on the Kotlin Slack, or "Contact Us" on the Touchlab website.
Please include some context:
Are you currently using KMP, evaluating KMP, or have you decided not to use KMP?
Is your project (or projects) fully native mobile, another "cross-platform" technology, or a blend?
How big is the team, and are they native mobile specialists (self-described "Android" and "iOS" developers)?
For native mobile apps, are the apps in separate repos?
For native mobile teams, how "separate" are the teams themselves? Ranging from "everybody does everything and task management are combined" to "they work almost exclusively as separate units"?
Thanks in advance. Hope to hear from you!
