We are excited to announce the FDA clearance of the Alere NT-proBNP for Alinity i assay. This is a significant milestone rounding out Abbott’s cardiac portfolio delivering more choices for heart failure testing. In the emergency department, measurements of NT-proBNP are used as an aid in the diagnosis of heart failure (HF) in patients with clinical suspicion of new onset or worsening HF. The Alere NT-proBNP for Alinity i assay enables efficient workflows with its 30-day-on -instrument reagent stability and once per lot calibration requirements. Physicians can be confident in accurate and reliable results with no significant biotin interference. Commercial availability of the product is expected within 90 days of clearance.
