McDonald’s has sued four of the world’s largest meatpackers, including Tyson Foods, JBS, Cargill and National Beef, for allegedly using illegal tactics to drive up beef prices for years. It’s the latest lawsuit to accuse the companies, which control about 80% of U.S. beef production, of violating federal antitrust laws. McDonald’s, the world’s largest buyer of beef, claims it has overpaid for beef since at least 2015 and is seeking monetary restitution in a Brooklyn federal court.
