    Energy Industry Leader

It was a “Power”ful week at CERA! It was great to hear Secretary Wright and executive leaders speak about the opportunity ahead in driving American AI leadership and energy. Chevron is focused on delivering reliable 24/7power generation that is critical to accelerate American AI leadership! I was pleased to speak at #CERAWeek’s Innovation Agora on a panel about “Fuel Sources Competing to Meet Data Center Demand”. Our discussions focused on the need to develop solutions that are economic and feasible and will help meet growing power demand that will strengthen American leadership in data centers and AI. Chevron recently announced its plans to deliver up to four GW of scalable, reliable natural gas-fired projects to data center customers that will lead speed to market. This is the equivalent of powering 3-3.5 million U.S. homes for one year.  We have unrivaled assets, capabilities, and experience to deliver power solutions, at speed and scale, with a pathway to integrate lower carbon solutions in the future. We are well positioned to enter – and lead – this market. Thanks to the other panelists Jaclyn Presnal Mohamed Al Braiki Cully Cavness and our moderator Doug Giuffre for a thoughtful discussion! At #CERAWeek, Chevron is showcasing innovation to action at Innovation Agora. I hope you had a wonderful week exploring and engaging in dialogue! #LowerCarbonPowre #FutureEnergy #PoweringPartnership #CERAWeek

Last week, business leaders and policymakers from around the world convened in Houston for CERAWeek, the energy industry’s premier global conference.    The annual event provides an opportunity to engage key stakeholders on the issues shaping the energy landscape.      I sat down with author and energy expert Dan Yergin to discuss the opportunities facing both Chevron and the industry, including our growth trajectory and key project milestones, our plans to leverage our strengths to power AI, and the continued need for a balanced energy conversation.     In the clip below, I outline Chevron’s continued growth in both global production and free cash flow. You can watch the full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/gWbKMYsC #Chevron #CERAWeek #Energy

  • Data center electricity demand is rapidly growing, primarily driven by the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This surge is driving a need for significant new dispatchable, reliable power generation. Chevron is well positioned to leverage our assets, capabilities and experiences to deliver power solutions, at speed and scale, with a pathway to lower carbon for today and the future #CERAWeek

Earlier this week, I joined CERAWeek’s strategic leadership roundtable for a discussion on “AI for Energy, Energy for AI”. I shared how AI advancements are helping us better process data, obtain insights and improve decision-making, while making our operations safer for workers. AI acceleration is increasing demand for energy from data centers and natural gas offers the easiest path to power, and combined with Carbon, Capture and Storage, is a reliable lower carbon solution. Chevron is working in collaboration with others to meet this demand with scalable, reliable natural gas fired projects to data center customers.  Looking ahead, we need to balance society’s goals with the need for an affordable, reliable, and ever-cleaner energy system. We will continue to need technology breakthroughs, and AI can be the breakout needed for that future lower carbon energy system. Thank you for the insightful conversation with my fellow panelists, as we pave the way forward in the responsible use of AI across our industries. #AI #Energy #CERAWeek

  • #CERAWeek sparked many conversations about AI … to meet AI demand, data centers will need reliable power around the clock, not intermittent supply. Chevron’s unique power solutions can help accelerate American AI leadership to reduce the risk of increasing costs for consumers or burdening the existing grid. Abundant, lower carbon intensity, U.S. natural gas can serve as the foundation for expanding the affordable, reliable power needed to fuel AI and a growing economy. Thanks to Daniel D. Droog, Erik Belz, Pablo Koziner, and our moderator Robert Schwiers for a thoughtful conversation about powering AI last week at the Chevron House in Innovation Agora. #LowerCarbonPower #FutureEnergy #PoweringPartnership #CERAWeek

Vice President, Carbon Capture, Utilization, & Storage (CCUS) and Emerging at Chevron New Energies

Reflecting on #CERAWeek 2025 over the weekend, I am optimistic about what I saw and heard. Creating an entirely new CCS industry at scale is a complex endeavor, but we're making progress together. Last week, we shared how we’re advancing foundational projects to drive meaningful progress. We’re furthering our efforts along the U.S. Gulf Coast, at Bayou Bend CCS, where we've achieved key milestones on the subsurface, facilities, and customer front, and we're making plans to capture carbon dioxide from the Pascagoula refinery. I also truly enjoyed meeting with existing and potential partners, customers, and collaborators, who are advancing efforts to bring solutions to market. It was wonderful to see all the amazing work across Chevron showcased in the Chevron Agora House (great work Chevron New Energies and Chevron Technology Ventures!) – and it was also inspiring to see other ideas and projects in progress from across the industry as I walked around the conference. I was encouraged by the regularity with which I heard other leaders say we need consistent and durable policy.   I’m proud to see progress, but we have more work to do. With more policy certainty, we will be better placed to make the large-scale investments needed to build out these new businesses, drive down costs, and achieve scale. #ChevronNewEnergies #CWAgora #LowerCarbon

We’re working to put innovation into action.  Our conversations at #CERAWeek and #CWAgora this week showcased our beliefs that:     -Renewable fuels can help reduce the lifecycle carbon intensity of transportation fuels. - CCUS is a solution that could help reduce global carbon emissions while maintaining economic growth. - Demand for hydrogen will grow and be a reliable and cost-effective way to reduce carbon emissions in hard-to-abate sectors. - We can lead the lower carbon power journey by building a diverse portfolio of low carbon intensity power to meet internal and customer needs at the right cost. - The development and scalability of emerging technologies can support delivering lower carbon solutions and a reliable baseload power supply.  Multiple solutions will be required and we’re excited to be a part of the effort to accelerate progress.

💭 We're all experiencing AI in different ways. Maybe you're using Siri to manage your schedule or ChatGPT to help write your resume. At Chevron, we're experiencing AI too. It helps us analyze data, remotely control equipment, and model hydrocarbon reservoirs. Learn more about our take on #AI for energy here: https://lnkd.in/gJxnaBsk

  • Yesterday at the Chevron House in Innovation Agora, we had team members discuss how we are creating value at every stage of the new energies value chain and how we use it as a systematic approach to developing products at each phase of a project, from source to sale.   We are taking action to reduce the carbon intensity of our existing operations, and pursuing building the lower carbon businesses of the future.  Lowering carbon emissions across hard-to-abate sectors requires a strong value chain.   Ganesh Nayak and Kelsey Corrigan     #LowerCarbon #ChevronNewEnergies #CWAgora
