In today's world, we witness the destruction of nature day in and day out. The feeling of love, sadness, and guilt caused by this loss is called ecological grief. Environmental activist Knut Ivar Bjørlykhaug invites us to use this complex feeling to power our actions for the planet, today: https://go.ted.com/6DEt

About us
TEDx is a TED program that enables volunteers to independently organize TED-like events in their local communities. Seize every opportunity to bond with your fellow teams. In Taichung, Taiwan, TEDxTaichung gathered 10 teams from across the country for a daylong Regional Workshop. Participants included volunteers from standard teams, university teams and youth teams. By starting with a morning of icebreaker activities, the group had a chance to get familiar with each other before jumping into breakout sessions to share insights about event design and social media as well as dream up their visions for the year. Though organizers often meet for the first time at activations like workshops, Weekends and conferences, the shared TEDx spirit creates a shared foundation for fast-formed connections. By crafting the event together (literally — the team made an X-shaped photo wall with handmade origami), the TEDxTaichung team also found a way to share time and collaborate in a low-pressure environment. Consider adopting a signature visual style to set your events apart. TEDxLondon in London, UK has used a consistent design identity throughout several events. While each event’s theme and specific assets change, the base graphics and main colors stay the same — making the series more easily recognizable and memorable. An important factor here is crafting a dynamic identity that can be configured into various combinations. As their events have continued, the team has adopted several elements that make repeat appearances: a popular bookstore, wayfinders and speaker meetup areas. A new addition this year was a shortlist of theater etiquette on the back of each attendee pass, helping to facilitate a smooth event experience. Thank you TEDx! #TEDxPatrasAdventure "What X Marks" was an unforgettable experience!
A TEDxAdventure can both renew your community’s sense of discovery and allow your team to enjoy the gatherings that they create. In Patras, Greece, TEDxPatras curated a local day that explored the lasting role of history in our everyday lives. By exploring an archaeological museum, enjoying a museum of diasporic art, doing a treasure hunt and more, attendees connected the dots between ideas from all around their city. The day ended at a coffee shop, where the group reflected with a trivia quiz and continued conversations. Adventures are opportunities for team members to be both hosts and attendees. With fewer attendees and topic experts to help guide logistics, volunteers can participate in addition to working the event.
