[HOUR ONE]

– The show opened with John Cena making his way to the ring to ask the crowd if they had something to say to him. Cena said that he could pick up apart anyone in the crowd and tear them to shreds. Cena said that he didn’t need to single out anyone here because they were all horrible people. He said that he had listened to the crowd’s noise for 25 years and that they had told him everything he needed to know about them.

– Cena said that in 2005 he brought the fans the spinner WWE championship. Cena said that the fans hated him for it and claimed that the belt looked like a toy. He said that the fans committed a mistake by letting him know that and now he would ruin wrestling by winning the title a seventeenth time. Cena said that he would win the belt and would retire with it, forcing WWE to create a new toy belt while he took the real one.

– Cody Rhodes interrupted to remind Cena that first he needed to take the belt from him. Cody said that he was wrong and this was the real and most dangerous one. He said that Cena made the mistake of involving the crowd in this. Cody laid the belt on the mat and dared Cena to take the belt. Cena refused to engage and walked away from the ring while Cody yelled at him. Cody told Cena that his need to hold the belt didn’t overpower the fans’ right to have the belt. Cody said that Cena walking away without the belt would be the exact way he walks out of WrestleMania and out of WWE.

(Pomares’ Analysis: A very hot opening that oddly didn’t feel like much of a follow-up to last week’s segment. Cody immediately retracted his only line from last week and Cena never addressed it. Speaking of which, Cena’s opening speech was fine, but it felt like it tread most of the same points from last week. It was still well delivered, but it definitely overstayed its welcome for me. At least Cody did a good job making this feud about the championship itself.)

– A recap of Finn Bálor’s issues wiht Dominik Mysterio, his failed shot at the Intercontinental title and Bron Breakker’s face-off with Penta was shown.

– Jey Uso made his way to the ring alongside Jimmy Uso, ahead of his match against the A-Town Down Under.

[Commercial Break]

(1) THE USOS (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) vs. A-TOWN DOWN UNDER (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)

Jey knocked Theory down with a shoulder tackle and a clothesline, forcing him to tag Waller in. Jey clocked Waller with an uppercut and an enzuigiri, setting him up for a double elbow droñ. The Usos clotheslined Waller out of the ring and launched Theory into him. Jimmy crashed into Theory and Waller with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Jimmy maintained control over Waller with an uppercut and a chop to the chest. Waller tossed Jimmy out of the ring before Jimmy shut him down with a slap. Theory laid Jimmy out with a forearm strike, as WWE Raw went to commercials.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Jimmy countered the rolling Stunner with a Samoan Drop on Waller, reaching Jey for the hot tag. Jey pummeled Theory and Waller with a barrage of right hands, followed by an enzuigiri on Theory. Jey hit Theory and Waller with superkicks for a two count. Waller got the blind tag before he and Theory put Jey down with a double forearm strike and double pop up punch. Waller missed a diving elbow drop, allowing Jimmy to get the hot tag. The Usos planted Waller with a pop up Samoan Drop, but Waller pulled Jimmy off the top turnbuckle. Jimmy clocked Waller with a superkick and set him up for Jey’ Spear. The Usos hit Theory with the 1D to pick up the win.

WINNER: The Usos at 9:15

– After the match, Gunther showed up to take Jimmy out of the ring and start brawling with Jey Uso. Jey cornered Gunther with superkicks, but tripped while going for the Spear, allowing Gunther to pummel him down, until Jimmy chased him away.

(Pomares’ Analysis: Decent tag match to hopefully take Theory and Waller out of this feud. I wouldn’t mind Jimmy facing Gunther to continue building this rivalry in the next few weeks. However, I’m not the biggest fan of telling the story that Jey is messing up in the ring as the world title program.)

–  Backstage, Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan discussed what happened with Finn Bálor last week. Liv said that they still had a chance to take the Intercontinental title and that he could change Finn’s mind.

[Commercial Break]

– An old-timey video package was shown, showcasing the legend of the luchador ‘El Grande Americano’.

– Backstage, LWO argued with Adam Pearce about El Grande Americano being Chad Gable. Gable showed up to claim that he was sick and showed Pearce a legit injury report. Gable suggested that Dragon Lee should take on El Grande Americano instead.

(2) LYRA VALKYRIA vs. RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ – WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship

Raquel tossed Lyra away and knocked her down with a spinning headlock. Lyra evaded a corner splash and hit Raquel with a dropkick to the knee. Raquel blocked a sunset flip, but Lyra was able to send her out of the ring with a roll-through. Raquel blocked a dropkick through the ropes, only for Lyra to drive her into the announce table with a hurracarrana. Back in the ring, Raquel blocked a diving move with a big boot, as WWE Raw went to an ad break.

[Commercial Break]

[HOUR TWO]

Back from break, Raquel planted Lyra with a springboard suplex, but missed a twisting Vader Bomb. Lyra crushed Raquel with a diving leg drop for a two count. Raquel sat Lyra atop the turnbuckle and caught her mid-air, only for Lya to put her down with a DDT.  Liv put Raquel’s foot on the ropes to break the pinfall. Lyra hit Liv with a dropkick through the ropes and countered the Tejana Bomb with a roll-through for the win.

WINNER: Lyra Valkyria at 8:25 (Still Women’s Intercontinental Champion)

– After the match, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez assaulted Lyra Valkyria, until Bayley ran down to make the save. Bayley and Lyra tossed Liv and Raquel out of the ring to stand tall.

(Pomares’ Analysis: Just an okay match to give Lyra another title defense while establishing her relationship with Bayley, ahead of a possible future title match.)

– Pat McAfee and Michael Cole thanked the Glasgow fans and put over the country before recapping that WWE would return to Europe later this year.

– A video package was shown, recapping the confrontation between Iyo Sky, Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley over the past few weeks.

[Commercial Break]

– A video package was shown recapping Triple H’s Intercontinental title match against The Rock, ahead of his induction to the Hall of Fame.

– Backstage, Jimmy Uso called Jey out for messing up when having the kill shot against Gunther. Jimmy said that this version of Jey couldn’t beat him, but the one that reached the main event and won the Royal Rumble could. Jimmy walked away and confronted Gunther to challenge him to a match before slapping him.

– Adam Pearce made his way to the ring to confirm that Rhea Ripley was not a part of the title match at WrestleMania. Pearce said that Ripley had a rematch, but she wouldn’t agree to a date and wanted to do things on her terms. Before Pearce could make a clear decision, Iyo Sky interrupted to claim that she could take on both of them. Bianca Belair interrupted to say that Ripley shouldn’t be part of this match because she didn’t earn it. Rhea Ripley interrupted to say that she wanted her rematch and it didn’t matter if it took place at WrestleMania.

– Ripley and Belair got in each other’s faces and shoved Sky away. Before Sky could jump at them, Pearce got in the way to confirm that Ripley would get a title rematch next week. They all started fighting, until Belair clotheslined Ripley out of the ring. Sky pulled Belair’s head into the ropes and took Ripley down with a hurracarrana. Belair evaded a power move and dropped Sky on top of Ripley with the KOD.

(Pomares’ Analysis: I liked that they immediately undermined Ripley’s signature and not even humored the idea that she could just sign herself into this match. However, this felt like a very samey segment from these women who keep on doing the disrespecting Sky bit which was good for the first week.)

– Backstage, Dominik Mysterio offered Penta the shot to join Judgment Day and have them help him win the Intercontinental title.

[Commercial Break]

– A video package was shown, highlighting the War Raiders’ dominant run.

– Backstage, the New Day demanded Adam Pearce to give them a title match at WrestleMania. Pearce told the New Day that they should prove themselves in a match next week. Bianca Belair showed up to ask who she would face at WrestleMania. Pearce told her that she would face the winner of next week’s title match and that she would be the guest referee.

(3) DRAGON LEE vs. EL GRANDE AMERICANO

Americano knocked Lee down with an arm drag and a chop to the chest. Lee caught Americano with a hurracarrana, followed by a suicide dive. Americano hit Lee with a hurracarrana and a clothesline for a two count. Lee caught Americano with a pump knee and floored him with a Xploder off the apron onto the floor, as WWE Raw went to a commercial break.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Lee took Americano down with a Victory Roll and caught him with a pump knee. Lee shoved Americano off the top turnbuckle into a Tree of Woe position, setting him up for a diving double stomp. Back in the ring, they traded chops, until Lee floored Americano with a German suplex and a thrust kick. Americano put Lee down with a release belly-to-belly suplex into the corner. Lee avoided a moonsault and put Americano down with a sitout powerbomb. Americano pulled Lee’s mask off and tripped him off the top turnbuckle before making tap out with an ankle lock.

WINNER: El Grande Americano at 8:56

(Pomares’ Analysis: Really strong and hard-hitting action between two very good wrestlers. However, the presentation of El Grande Americano has really soured me on this whole angle. Between the video package filled with clear AI imagery to billing Gable from the Gulf of America, this storyline now feels kind of in poor taste.)

– A lengthy recap of the brawl between CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins was shown.

– CM Punk made his way to the ring.

[Commercial Break]

– CM Punk said that he wasn’t in a good mood and that he hadn’t slept well. Punk said that he had a match at WrestleMania, but didn’t get what he wanted. Punk complained about losing the Royal Rumble and Seth Rollins costing him the Elimination Chamber. He said that this wasn’t personal for him and that next week they would be in a contract signing. Punk said that Rollins was mad that he was under his shadow and Roman was angry that his Wise Man wasn’t only his. Punk told Rollins that he brought him into this business and that he couldn’t wait to take him out of it.

(Pomares’ Analysis: Very similar to Seth Rollins’ promo from last week in the sense that this was just a set up for next week’s segment. At least this one had a couple of better lines.)

– A video from Logan Paul was shown, featuring him calling him out for next week’s Raw.

– It was confirmed that Jimmy Uso would take on Gunther; Cody Rhodes and John Cena would have another face-to-face; and Iyo Sky would battle Rhea Ripley in a title match.

– Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviewed Bron Breakker about the chance of having to face Penta and the Judgment Day tonight. Breakker said that it didn’t matter and that he would still take on Penta tonight.

[Commercial Break]

[HOUR THREE]

(4) BRON BREAKKER vs. PENTA – WWE Intercontinental Championship

Penta put Breakker in a headlock, only for Breakker to nail him with kicks to the knee. Breakker caught Penta off-guard with a massive lariat and crushed him with a series of shoulder thrusts. Penta took Breakker out of the ring with a hurracarrana, only for Breakker to catch him with a knee strike on the apron. Breakker crushed Penta with a diving clothesline over the announce table. Dominik Mysterio and Carlito showed up at ringside, as WWE Raw went to commercials.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Breakker nailed Penta with a pair of forearm strikes, only for Penta to respond with a thrust kick, knocking each other down. Penta dropped Breakker with a kick to the back and a reverse sling blade. Breakker blocked a suicide dive with an uppercut, only for Penta to counter a powerslam with a backstabber. Breakker dropped Penta with a gutbuster, but he kicked out at two. Penta caught Breakker with a thrust kick and an enzuigiri.

Penta blocked a move from the top turnbuckle and hit Breakker with a headscissors takeover, setting him up for a Tope con Hilo. Back in the ring, Penta spiked Breakker with a Destroyer for a nearfall. Breakker stopped Penta atop the turnbuckle and put him down with a Frankensteiner for a close two count. Dominik distracted the referee while Carlito tried to attack Breakker from behind Breakker blasted Carlito with a Spear, only for Dominik to hit him with a chop block.

WINNER: Bron Breakker at 11:23 via DQ (Still WWE Intercontinental Champion)

– Bron Breakker started overpowering Dominik Mysterio, until Finn Bálor showed up to hit him with a chair shot to the back. Finn gave Dominik the chair, only for Dominik to offer it to Penta. Penta teased hitting Breakker, but instead shut Dominik down with a thrust kick. Finn attacked Penta from behind, nailed Breakker with a Spear and crushed Penta with a Coup de Grace.

(Pomares’ Analysis: Some pretty good actions, until the lame finish spot. The story of the Judgment Day has been very lackluster since Priest and Ripley left the group and now after all the losses, WWE once again asks to care about Finn Bálor as a singles guy. I expected this to be a multi-man match for a while, but now that it seems that AJ will be out of the picture and people like Sheamus, Kaiser or Dunne are not even getting a spot at Mania, I’m left with a rather unexciting 4-way match come WrestleMania.)
