@AdmiralFoxx Hmmm... then maybe it should be a roguelite deckbuilder turn-based MOBA! Play 30 minutes at a time with meta-progression and deck strategies! With all those keywords it is sure to be a hit!
I haven't been excessively bothered myself by performance issues running Rivals on my 16GB PC, but then again, I am the kind of sicko who enjoys making pretty games run on low-spec machines.
I wouldn't say I enjoy that sort of thing, but it's definitely A Thing I Have Done, mostly because low-spec machines are what I've always had. Also, I run Linux. For games I need to run with Wine, disabling a visual effect or two can be the difference between smooth performance and regular crashes to desktop.
Oh, how could I forget? The tried and true method of opting-out-of-bad-performance. It's like when your apartment complex puts up placards declaring it to be a crime-free campus and forbidding crime. It's like calling upon a major disease like measles to stop spreading.
Given that perceptions of lacklustre PC game performance vary wildly between users, I wouldn't put it past NetEase to invoke the old placebo effect and literally just add a box to the title screen with "tick to realise your PC's latent superpowers" written next to it in Arial Bold.
We're talking about a game that if you lose a few games will sneakily put you up against bots without telling you so that you get an easy "win". I think they are quite up for just straight lying.
In general, my pals and I have had no problems with performance (ahem); the only times there's been trouble have been with one of us who uses Geforce Now, and I guess that's understandable.
(btw thanks for making me laugh with the first paragraph)

Could be plain old psychic interference. They're always wiping memories in the comics.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
1. Check Drivers are latest version
2. Validate game files in Steam
3. Slap Professor Xavier / Enact Red Triangle protocol
@Galactic Man 4. Make sure Xavier isn't dead again and/or replaced by Cassandra Nova
@thanosi That bald head makes him a slippery devil...
The checkbox will likely replace Doctor Strange's portal ability with a 50/50 chance to win or lose the game instantly.
I think the box will be for a surprise turn-based mode! Either that or a text-based interface.
@Verzor What are we thinking, adventure game parser or Rogue interface?
@treelo
You enter a small room. There is a dark tunnel to the west, and a door to the north. A small spider is crawling across the floor.
Spider-Man enters the room from the door to the north.
You shoot a small spider that wasn't harming anyone. YOU MONSTER!
Do you mean the character Spider-Man (tm)?
Then why didn't you say so? He has already left the room via the dark tunnel to the west.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
@Verzor applauds
@Verzor a turn-based hero shooter or MOBA would actually be kinda interesting. For like half an hour, but still an interesting half hour.
