𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 The renewable sector, like many others, faces challenges of inefficiencies, multi-discipline collaboration, and project overspend. By adopting Digital Engineering and cloud-based model federation we’re shifting to 3D federated models that integrate all design elements, driving improved collaboration and operation efficiency. Platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) offer powerful benefits: 1. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀: Efficient document collaboration and seamless approvals. 2. 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹: Standardised documentation improves quality and the client experience. 3. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀: All disciplines in one model, reducing silos. 4. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Centralised tracking fosters accountability. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 is digital. What does a #DigitalMindset mean for engineering and consulting? We believe digital adoption is fundamentally human. A true digital mindset means embracing agility, scalable thinking, and transparent knowledge sharing to create lasting impact. And it means adopting this thought pattern across everything that an organisation does – it’s not just project specific. 💡Adam Freer, our Digital Delivery Manager, Global Water & Environment, explores why the most successful digital strategies prioritise people, collaboration, and innovation. What’s your biggest takeaway from digital adoption? 🔗 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/geXY2AZC #FutureOfWork #SimplifyComplexity #UnlockPotential #EngineeringPositiveChange

The transformation of Sydney's iconic former Channel Nine studios in Willoughby has revitalised a 3.2-hectare site that was closed to the public for over 60 years. Led by Mirvac the project features 10 architecturally designed residential buildings, delivering 445 apartments and over 6,000 square metres of green open space, including parks, gardens, and a vibrant north-facing plaza. As Civil Engineering lead, SMEC played a pivotal role in delivering innovative stormwater management solutions, seamlessly integrating functionality, aesthetics, and long-term maintenance considerations. Congratulations to Mirvac and all project partners for bringing this vision to life and creating a connected, liveable community in Sydney’s lower north shore. https://brnw.ch/21wReJX #UrbanRenewal #Sydney #Community #SimplifyingComplexity #EngineeringPositiveChange

This week we hosted special guest speaker Jo Farrell, founder of the non-profit Build Like A Girl and a passionate advocate for women in the construction industry. With over three decades of experience, Jo has dedicated her career to empowering women, focusing on the cultural shifts needed to help them thrive. As we approach International Women’s Day tomorrow, we reflect on the powerful insights shared by Jo about the realities faced by women in male-dominated industries, particularly in construction. Jo highlighted the urgent need for cultural change, speaking candidly about confronting workplace harassment, the importance of speaking up, and the role each of us plays in creating a safer, more inclusive environment. Her message was clear - change happens when we take action. From calling out inappropriate behaviour to advocating for greater diversity and equity, we all have a responsibility to challenge the status quo. Jo also shed light on global gender inequalities, reminding us that progress is not guaranteed and that the fight for women’s rights is ongoing. The session was thought-provoking, inspiring, and at times confronting. It reinforced the importance of allyship and the need to actively support women in our industry and beyond. Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged in this vital conversation. Let’s continue to challenge bias, drive inclusion, and be part of the change. 📸 Jo with SMEC colleagues in Canberra #EngineeringPositiveChange #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction #SMEC
