So this is an anime that is geared, in my humble opinion, to a female audience. It was engaging and intriguing but in the progression of the story it was careful and calculated, slow and at times predictable.
A generally positive story for one starting at such a sad and depressing premise. There was what felt to be a lot of repetitiveness of certain themes and elements (at times I thought it bordered on such a high frequency that it must be to save money on production). Additionally usually they show you the progression but in a number of cases we see a single instance and are left to draw the conclusion that now everything is different. There wasn't anything artistically unique, I did like how the main character's Kimono looked, but usually things looked a little off, just not quite right.
It was a nice peak into what life might have looked like at a certain period of time. Generally the series was quite serene. Although I listed quite a few flaws, I did actually enjoy it.
