Ohara Hidekazu was born 1956 in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. He is an animator, character designer and director.
After graduating from the Department of Industrial Chemistry at Miyakonojo Technical College he joined Topcraft (later Ghibli), where he partook in the production of Nausicaa. Afterwards he turned to CM production and joined Studio Arrow (スタジオアロー) and later became freelance. Today he collaborates often with Studio 4°C, working on many of their projects as animator, character designer and director.
