Incumbent Maria Fe Abunda (Lakas–CMD) is running for a third term.[3][1] She was re-elected in 2022 under PDP–Laban with 94.59% of the vote.

Abunda is running against two other candidates, including former Eastern Samar vice governor Sheen Gonzales (Independent).[4][1][5]

Incumbent Anna Veloso-Tuazon (National Unity Party) is running for a second term. Veloso-Tuazon was elected unopposed in 2022.

Ongchuan's cousin, Northern Samar governor Edwin Ongchuan (Partido Federal ng Pilipinas), is running against two other candidates.[14][1][16]
