Douglas Court Shopping Centre is seeking to expand further with the addition of an upstairs health and wellness centre.
Cork City Council has received an application from the Douglas Court Partnership for a change of use of storage areas on the shopping centre’s first-floor level to facilitate the provision of a health and wellness centre.
The development will comprise eight units in the property.
In its application, Douglas Court said the new development will provide a range of uses including fitness aesthetics, health and wellness uses and hair and beauty treatments, which future operators may require.
The shopping centre is also seeking planning to construct a lift shaft on the ground and first floors.
Meanwhile, Grandon’s car dealership is looking to expand its site in Glanmire and has sought permission from Cork City Council to construct a 246 sq m single-storey extension at its existing facility.
Located in Sallybrook, Glanmire, the development will accommodate five service bays, parts, storage and a trade counter, along with a new single-storey entrance lobby to the south of the existing dealership’s showroom.
