On March 24, 2025, the Media Board of Yemen's Houthi Ansar Allah movement released a statement in which it condemned the closing of the X accounts of Yemeni activists and institutions which "oppose the American and Zionist policy in the region." The Media Board accused the X platform of adopting "a policy of silencing people," and claimed that this reflects the "suppressive and dictatorial" character of the U.S. The statement says that these steps won't manage to conceal "the American-Zionist crimes against the peoples... On the contrary, they will only increase our determination to operate ceaselessly in the media arena with the goal of exposing the crimes of the forces of evil and global arrogance." It also praised "the free voices" that operate in the arena "of the media jihad against the American-Zionist distortion, in the framework of the sacred obligation to wage jihad, by means of words and standpoints, to assist the oppressed and to expose the criminals."
