Engineering & Operations
he Engineering & Operations department is responsible for developing and maintaining products and frameworks, both externally for our customers, as well as internally within SES. The following teams comprise the Engineering & Operations department:

Space & Defense
SES Space & Defense is a wholly owned subsidiary of SES, the leader in global content connectivity solutions, and is exclusively focused on building, managing, and supporting the most advanced satellite network solutions for the governmental institutions. SES Space & Defense leverages a proven multi-operator network integration and management capability, an extensive global terrestrial network, as well as access to SES’s multi-orbit satellite fleet.
Transformation Office
The transformation office drives execution of transformation program, aligning people, processes and technology to achieve operational excellence and protect our EBITDA - focusing on the cost as much as on the transformation part of the equation. The three main areas the team works on are:
- Business Process Management to set process governance and drive process improvement and standardisation
- Transformation Program Management and Analytics to coordinate the transformation efforts and manage the execution and delivery of the transformation program
- Change Management team to deploy the change management capabilities in support of the transformation and drive the people side of change
M&A and Development
The M&A and Development department deals with the following topics:
- Manage mergers and acquisitions, including post-closing activities and integration
- Identify and develop long-term partnerships, such as joint ventures, minority interests, an innovation and technology participations
- Monetise spectrum and asset opportunities, such as C-band
- Support the strategic goals and growth of SES, improve its vertical positioning, and generate new opportunities
Strategy
The Strategy department deals with the following topics:
- Develop the overall strategy for the organisation, defining the direction, positioning, and differentiation in the markets
- Recommend the best paths and optimise the capital allocation for improving the organisation's capabilities
- Develop a strategic execution framework, a simplified action plan that tracks and measures the progress and accountability
- Communicate the strategy effectively to internal and external audiences, in collaboration with the Comms team, Investor Relations and People & Culture
- Produce market and competitive intelligence and analysis, and extracts insights from internal data.
Internal Audit
The Internal Audit function provides assessments of the adequacy and effectiveness of Risk Management, Internal Control and Corporate Governance processes and monitors their continuous improvement in all relevant business entities. Reports to the Audit Committee of the SES Board.
Legal
The Legal function provides legal support to all SES functions. It is an integral part of corporate governance (incl. compliance) and supports all customer contracting activities and processes, procurement and vendor management activities. It also provides support to business development on transactional activities, facilitates government advocacy, and secures applicable licensing and market access.
Product & Innovation
The purpose of the Product & Innovation function is to generate, create, and deliver new experiences, platforms, and assets for the company and its customers. The department has three main responsibility areas:

Vertical Markets
he purpose of the department is to drive commercial excellence and profitable business growth for the four market verticals: Media, Enterprise and Cloud, Aero, and Maritime. The department also aims to improve the end-to-end customer experience, optimise the go-to-market strategies, and execute the growth initiatives for each vertical.
People & Culture
The People & Culture department is responsible for handling every aspect of the employee lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding to departure and everything in between. The department comprises of the following teams:
