Super-great series! Infinitely better than Detective Conan, which is a cheap imitation. Kindaichi has orders-of-magnitude-deeper stories, much better animation, and none of the irritants and preachiness. Eps 88 and 89 are among my favorites.
Certain gestures by a card-trick magician in the Magical Express Murder Case may have been lifted for Hisoka in HunterxHunter.
This series might also have inspired the character designs of Johann Liebert (Monster) and Kagura (Gintama). An absolute must-see.

it's not a bad mystery anime... Much more bloodier than Case Closed, but I think Case Closed does a better job executing the mystery... I mean, at least the people get CAUGHT in Case Closed...
