They both have the same Kind of pace and rythme, with deep inner teenage-hood thoughts.
"Just because" is somehow a bit more realistic (JUST A BIT).
If you like "skip and loafer" you really may enjoy "Just Because" too.

An anime romance that sets itself apart from most other shows by a realistic approach to storytelling, down-to-earth-characters, a slow pace, and a great visual style. Dealing with multiple characters and their romantic relations, it also carries a certain melancholy when it deals with the last months of highschool and young people's final parting with childhood.
The ending might not please everybody, many interesting aspects of the story and its characters remain untold, and the art style is at times inconsistent. But nevertheless Just Because is a great anime.

I can't deny that this is probably one of the SLOWEST pacing romance anime I have ever seen.
The main characters are all likable and somewhat relateable. There's also "LINE" integration which was kinda cool to see (although this has already been done before). Not much can be said about this one, it takes a VERY realistic approach to your typical everyday romance and it sums up quite well.
All things being considered it is a good watch (ONLY if you are a ROMANCE FAN). I can honestly say (unless the story or characters impact you on a personal level) that its a passable Romance Anime. The problem is - It is JUST that.

This show is pretty much just your basic romantic drama. Most of the elements are pretty predictable and it's relatively low-intensity on the emotional scale. A good, slow-paced, somewhat grittier, or at least 'more realistic' look at two different romances played out somewhat like a polygon (though more like two triangles). I love this show's ambiance and production values, but its slow pacing and relatively predictable plot might not suck in everyone, but given the low number of good 'recent' romances in anime, this one's definitely worth checking out for fans of romance. It scores high on my list.
