Not quite as good as some of its sequels, however the original Dirty Pair pioneered the dynamic duo formula of tomboy Kei and dainty Yuri and these girls with guns create a hallmark action comedy experience. What sets this gem apart from other comedies and action anime is its very immersive futuristic and galactic sci-fi setting.
Even though it was racy in its time, the fan-service in this show is very minimal - at most a neck and above shot shower scene. I think this makes the show classier than some of its modern successors.
The music in this show is brilliant (especially for its time) and I have scarcely heard an OP or ED as good since.
Expect lots of expensive things to get blown up in spectacular ways, blackmail of superiors for extra vacation time and a wonderful "Buddy Cop" relationship (along with their giant cat) - this underrated joy can and will be a memorable experience for all. A must see!

classic series with strong lead character in neat setting with great humor ... i must say, there's many weak episodes with shithe directing, but the few FANTASTIC ones among them make it worth watching.
