I swapped my daily Joe and the Juice for this viral greens powder and saved over £50 a week - here's why it'll always be part of my morning routine
If you’ve been on TikTok or other social media apps recently, it’s likely you’ve seen people talking about greens powders.
And with health and well-being becoming a priority for many of us, you’ve probably also found yourself wondering if the majestic green powder is worth adding to your routine.
Looking to up your vitamin intake? You can say goodbye to tiresome meal-prep and add this quick and easy greens powder into your morning routine.
Not only does it contain 91 vitamins and minerals, but it also boasts a fresh taste of apple and lime - and claims to have 166 health benefits, including digestive and immune support.
Green powders in a easy-to-make drink have become a popular and convenient way to get your daily dose of vitamins, minerals and superfoods.
As someone who is trying to be as healthy as possible with minimal effort, I’ve tried a fair few greens powders - and some are far superior to others.
The Super Greens Powder from Huel boasts a ‘perfect blend’ of 91 vitamins, minerals, superfoods, antioxidants, adaptogens and prebiotics in a 100 per cent vegan formula, with zero artificial colours or sweeteners.
Each ingredient from super-mushroom adaptogens to dandelion leaf has been carefully chosen to support your health and well-being. With claims to support and maintain cognitive and muscle function, energy metabolism and digestive support, (the greens powder is said to boast an impressive 165 health benefits, in total), I decided to put it to the test.

I've tried several greens powders on a mission to get my vitamin intake up - Huel's Daily Greens is one of the best I've tried
With thousands of five-star reviews, customers say that the daily greens are a ‘great way to add nutritional balance to your day’, while others note that they have ‘less brain fog after drinking regularly’. But what did I think?
As with anything that you have to drink or take every day to see the reported benefits, the most important thing was the taste - and compared to other greens powders on the market, I was pleasantly surprised by Huel’s offering.
Despite the ingredients list of nettle, black garlic and broccoli, the greens actually had the fresh taste of apple, pineapple and lime - and I would go as far to say as I thoroughly enjoyed it - even first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
The second most important thing, for me, was any negative side effects as some friends had reported feeling sick after trying other greens powders on the market.

Despite the superfood-rich ingredients list, the greens powder boasts a pleasant taste of apple, pineapple and lime - and is also available in an alternative watermelon flavour
For the best results Huel recommends taking your greens as part of your morning routine, so, for the purpose of this review (and in a bid to overcome my usual mid-morning slump) that’s exactly what I did. And I can confirm after a week of drinking the Huel Daily Greens, I had no negative effects to speak of.
While you’d need longer than a week to feel any long-term benefits such as immune support and any hair, skin and nail benefits, when I drank this in the morning instead of my usual tea or coffee, I did feel slightly perkier than usual - and I also found I didn’t bloat as easily throughout the day.
In my opinion though, the main attraction of Huel’s Daily Greens is the knowledge that you’re doing whatever you can to look after your health.

The Huel Daily Greens claims to support the immune and digestive systems, as well as contributing to the maintenance of hair, skin and nails, among other benefits
Between working full-time, making time for relationships and friendships, and the business of day-to-day lives, it can be difficult to ensure that we’re eating a healthy diet (because let’s face it, cooking after a day in the office feels like a full-time job in itself).
Huel’s Daily Greens makes getting your recommended vitamin intake an easy feat, which is not only good for physical health, but it’s also one less thing to worry about, which in my book is good for mental health, too.
For £50 for 30 servings (which works out at £1.67 - much cheaper than your daily coffee or a smoothie from Joe & The Juice), I’d say this is a worthy investment for your health - though I’d be sure to double-check the ingredients list against any vitamins you’re currently taking, as doubling up can do more harm than good.
