Tori Spelling slammed the 2025 Oscars for keeping late pal Shannen Doherty out of the In Memoriam as her father Aaron and their Beverly Hills, 90210 castmate Luke Perry had also been slighted previously.
The 51-year-old actress talked candidly about her pal Shannen - who passed away aged 53 in July 2024 from cancer - on the late actress' podcast Let's Be Clear released on Monday.
Tori reacted to her late friend being left out of the In Memoriam at the 97th Academy Awards last month as she said: 'I have to say it was shocking, truly shocking.
'Because to me, I discovered Shannen as a fan on the big screen. While she was so iconically known for her TV roles, which I want to honor her and go through her career today, but it's really the big screen where her career just thrived. And she just lit up the big screen going back to when she was a kid.'
Shannen was not just known for her television roles as she also starred in 1998 film Heathers, 1995's Mallrats, and 2001's Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back.
Tori went on to explain: 'So I know that was heartbreaking. I saw the headlines. I saw the fans that were so outraged on her behalf. I couldn't believe it.

'Honestly, when the In Memoriam stopped and she hadn't been included, my heart dropped. It sank. And it sank because I was like, "What? It's such a miss."'
She went on to acknowledge that there are many in the entertainment industry who need to be mentioned during that segment of Hollywood's biggest night.
Tori said: 'I don't know what the rules are there — how people are picked and not picked.
'But I just think when someone so iconic to fans across the world passes and they're not remembered for their legacy and the great work they did, I just think it's shocking. And it personally felt a little triggering to me because this is the third person that I love that has been left out of the In Memoriam.'
Her TV mogul father Aaron Spelling passed away in 2006.
Tori said: 'The year my dad passed, I remember he was left out of it.'
Then Tori and Shannen's Beverly Hills, 90210 castmate Luke Perry died suddenly in 2019.
She said: 'And then, ironically, the year that Luke Perry passed, he was left out of it.

'But it's not like Shannen could have been an oversight. It just felt for all of us watching that loved her and loved her work, it felt like not only was she robbed, but we were robbed.'
Shannen worked in Hollywood for an impressive 45 years as she started early with child performances on shows like Father Murphy, The Phoenix and Little House On The Prairie.
Tori was not the only person upset about the snub as many fans were in addition to several others.
Her rep also felt like that was enough to warrant Doherty's inclusion in the In Memoram' at the Oscars.
A longtime rep for Shannen told TMZ it was 'really disappointing not to see her included in the tribute.'
Her fans were also livid as they took to X to share their anger with comments such as, 'Shannen must be rolling in her grave' and 'She deserves better than that.'
Michelle Trachtenberg was also left off the 'in memoriam' segment after dying last week at age 39.
She had stepped back from show business in recent years.

Another user said, 'Ohhh...F*** YOU #Oscars for not putting Michelle Trachtenberg in the memorial.' while one upset viewer wrote, 'NO MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG?!?!?? Go to Hell #Oscars.'
One user admitted they were surprised at the omission: 'Did they really not even include Michelle Trachtenberg in the “In Memoriam” for tonight’s Oscars??? That’s icky.'

Trachtenberg gained fame in the 1996 Harriet the Spy film and later appeared n a pair of popular TV shows - Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl.
The New York Police Department said in a statement that officers responding to an apartment building in the Hell´s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan found the actress 'unconscious and unresponsive' amid their response to a 911 call.
Trachtenberg had been pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, authorities said, adding that foul play was not suspected to be a factor in the star's passing.

Among the other motion pictures Trachtenberg had appeared in included 1999's Inspector Gadget, 2004's EuroTrip, 2006's Black Christmas and 2009's 17 Again.
But despite her recent passing and appearances in multiple movies, Trachtenberg was not mentioned in the somber segment - and fans let the Academy know they felt.
One user said, 'Michelle trachtenberg not being mentioned in the in memoriam section of the oscars is upsetting , you are and will remain so so loved and admired michelle.'
One upset viewer wrote, 'NO MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG?!?!?? Go to Hell #Oscars.'
A fan said that it was so sad the actress was left out of the emotional segment, adding that she 'deserved her flowers!!!'
'Why was michelle trachtenberg not honored at the oscars memoriam?????' one user said. Another added, 'Oh f*** yall for not including michelle trachtenberg. so disrespectful #Oscars.'
One user added, 'Like hello. even a simple black screen with her name would’ve sufficed?'
A fan posted a shot of reality star NeNe Leakes with the caption 'where was Michelle Trachtenberg in the in Memoriam,' while another posted an image of a young Trachtenberg performing in the film Harriet the Spy, calling the snub a 'huge oversight'
One user pushed back on any narrative that organizers failed to include Trachtenberg because they didn't have enough time to prepare.
'Why didn’t they include Michelle Trachtenberg in the In Memoriam?' the user said.
They continued, 'It wouldn’t be due to time constraints because they added Gene Hackman who died one day after her. #Oscars RIP Michelle!'
The New York City´s Office of Chief Medical Examiner said that Trachtenberg's relatives declined to have an autopsy performed, according to the AP.
