Nice unpretentious family movie that is kind of the anime predecessor of free willy. The story is basic and the character pretty cliché but the animation is astonishingly vivid and fluid. The director an co-founder of studio 4c, Morimoto Kouji is usually more seen in expermimental work but in that more standard movie it's animator talent still shine. Definitly a recommended movie more for the quality of the animation, rather than the depthness of the story.
