MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. OOO Suzuki Motor Rus, the official representative of the manufacturer Suzuki on the Russian market, is recalling over 3,700 Suzuki SX4 and Vitara crossovers sold between 2016 and 2022, the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart) said in a statement.
"3,756 Suzuki SX4 and Vitara vehicles sold between 2016 and 2022 with VIN codes according to the appendix are subject to recall," the statement says.
The reason for the recall is a vacuum pump malfunction, which occurs due to the use of fuel with a high ethyl alcohol content. The pump valve may swell and partially block the negative pressure channel to the brake booster, which in turn may lead to an increase in the required force to press the brake pedal and the appearance of extraneous sounds when pressing the brake pedal, the technical regulator explains. The vacuum pump will be replaced on all vehicles.
All owners of cars subject to the recall will be informed of the need to provide the vehicle to the nearest dealership for repair work, the regulator says.
Car owners can independently - without waiting for a message from an authorized dealer-determine on the Rosstandart website whether their vehicle is subject to a recall by comparing the VIN number of their own car with the list of cars included in this recall list. Repair work will be carried out free of charge, the statement says.
